The design had a number of stunning features including high ceilings on the ground floor and raked ceilings to the first floor.
The house was designed around a northerly aspect utilising the native gardens around to create a seamless indoor/outdoor living space. The architect’s selection of finishes were simple, timeless and well stated. The client brief was for a high-end look that will not date and this was achieved through blackbutt finishes to cabinetry, doors and floors, alongside brushed nickel tapware to the bathrooms, kitchen and laundry.
Along the hallway there are 3 large windows that capture the beautiful morning sun. and a number of large windows on the ground floor for the afternoon sun to fill the ground floor and entertaining decks with natural light.
The site had its challenges due to the restricted access making it hard for machines, materials and people to access the site. We also needed to make sure that relationships with the neighbours were maintained and the impact to them was minimal.
Due to how tight the site was and being built between existing structures the set out was key to ensure all rooms of the house achieved incredible natural light.
The build was truly a collaborative masterpiece between the client, builder, architect and engineer. As challenges became apparent, regular site meetings allowed all parties to be aware and small changes to be made to ensure the project was delivered exactly how it was envisioned.
This project was incredibly successful through the early collaboration and changes. We are so proud of the level of finishes and quality of build this home is and we’re thankful to be able to be involved in it.
